The Exhibition Micromachine/MEMS and ROBOTECH bring together from around the world developers from manufacturers involved in micro and nanotechnology basic research and applications, manufacturers engaged in device development and manufacturing, and manufacturers that use these devices, serving as a site for extremely high level exchange between members of industry and academia, as well as business negotiations.
Exhibition Micromachine/MEMS
Ever since the First Industrial Micromachine Exhibition in 1990, this exhibition has grown in step with the development of micromachines and MEMS as the industry’s largest specialized trade show. It covers not only MEMS fields related to the manufacture of sensors, mirror switches, and the like, but also a wide range of other fields, such as the microfluidic devices and micromachines used in medical and biotech applications. The exhibition is attended by a large number of technology development companies, both from inside Japan and overseas.
ROBOTECH
This trade exhibition showcases the elemental technologies which support the practical application and advancement of next generation robots (service robots), a field in which MEMS devices are applied as sensors. Service robots, which can provide care for aging societies with declining birth rates, and handling dangerous and unpleasant work, are the second largest growth field, following the automotive field. The 3rd ROBOTECH exhibition, in addition to showcasing sensors, motors, and actuators, will also promote the fusion of these technologies with IT fields such as image recognition, image processing, and information transmission technologies, contributing to a richer future society.
